There are 3 main ways to waterproof a pond; concrete, waterproof pond lining material or a pre-formed shell.
Concrete – Sometimes seen as the easiest choice but the gravel in the pond or roots from nearby trees can erode the concrete over time and water gets into the reinforcement causing corrosion, spalling and a failure of the concrete. If you wish to use a concrete surround and / or a base as a pond lining then we recommend the Polyprufe pond lining system over the top of this to stop problems occurring.
Maclennan-LSE now offer an additional option for your pond lining requirements. We totally waterproof your pond using the Polyprufe pond lining on top of either a concrete base or a geotextile layer. The spray on pond lining is extremely tough, flexible and prevents root penetration. The pond lining can be quickly and easily applied after the basic pond has been installed, with the spay on pond coating applied directly over the concrete or pond lining.
In some circumstances we can make you a pre-formed shell off site but we would not recommended this option. Adding the Polyprufe pond lining system to either a concrete pond or pond lining material guaranteeing that you never have a leak.
